Press release: 28-06-2016: Activities in the companies
News of the EMSPI project (Energy Management Standardization in Printing Industry). The five project partners from Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Spain and The Netherlands are implementing the Energy Management System in the SMEs. This project aims to promote actions to increase the energy efficiency at European small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Printing Industry by promoting the implementation of Energy Management System. This will make it for SMEs much easier to implement ISO 50001 energy management.
A specific adaptation of the global standard ISO 50001 is developed. This system will be implemented in the next period until September 2016. Also awareness on the benefits of energy efficiency tools will be disseminated to all the stakeholders in the industry in the participating European countries. In the companies the energy consumption and the CO2 footprint will be calculated. Measures to save energy will be affected. Therefore energy monitoring is an important part of this project to create relevant data of the effectiveness of energy management.
This will lead to the following results: the SMEs with a fulfilled energy management system will have potential on energy efficiency improvement. This will save energy, generate less CO2 and potential money savings in the future. Also we will inform SMEs to create awareness on energy efficiency and energy management and how to use tools and project materials within the industry in each country, through direct and indirect dissemination activities.
