Implementing Energy Management System in companies started

The Emspi project partners have started to reqruit and implement the developed Energy Management System in 100 SMEs.

The EMSPI project (Energy Management Standardization in Printing Industry) had a conference beginning of April 2016 in Prague, Czech Republic. The project is implementing the Energy Management System in the SMEs. The EMSPI project aims to promote actions for increase the energy efficiency at European small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) of the Printing Industry by promoting the implementation of Energy Management System based on the global standard ISO 50001.

A specific adaptation of the global standard ISO 50001 for the energy management in printing SMEs and sector-specific implementation are developed. They are used to implement the specific energy management standard at 100 SMEs in the next period till September 2016. Also awareness on the benefits of energy efficiency tools will be disseminated to all the stakeholders in the industry in the participating European countries.

This will lead to the following results: the SMEs with a fulfilled energy management system will have potential on energy efficiency improvement. This will save energy, less CO2 and potential money savings in the future. Also we will inform SMEs to create awareness on energy efficiency and energy management and how to use tools and project materials within the industry in each country, through direct and indirect dissemination activities.
